GRAY, Maine — With heavy rain expected throughout the state Thursday night, the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for much of Maine.
The watches take effect at 6 p.m. Thursday and were expected to last late into Thursday night and possibly into Friday morning.
Oxford, Franklin, Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties are among the areas expected to be affected, according to the weather service.
Two to 3 inches of rain are possible, according to the weather service, and residents are advised to monitor forecasts.
