SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — A man from Oakland, California, who barricaded himself inside a school bus behind Target on Monday evening surrendered peacefully to South Portland police.
Early reports indicated the man, later identified as Corbin Allen Pratt, 29, had a gun, according to South Portland police Sgt. Christopher Todd. But police later confirmed the man was unarmed after his surrender at 8:30 p.m.
According to police, Pratt apparently had been living in the bus for two days and store management wanted him to move along. He now faces criminal trespass charges. A charge of creating a police standoff will be reviewed by the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office.
The store manager at Target told CBS 13 the store remained open during the standoff.
