MOUNT VERNON, Maine — A Mount Vernon man is facing a weapons charge after police executed a search warrant and discovered multiple firearms at his home.
Roger Clough, 49, was charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, according to Sgt. Michael Johnston of the Maine State Police.
Clough was not arrested, according to Johnston.
In addition to the 16 firearms, an undisclosed amount of marijuana was also found at the residence, the sergeant said.
The State Police Special Investigations Unit, along with troopers from Troop C and the Maine Warden Service collaborated on the search warrant, which was executed due to the fact that Clough is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing weapons, Johnston explained.
“I expect additional charges will be added once the District Attorney’s office reviews the case,” Johnston said.
Clough is scheduled to appear in court sometime in December, Johnston said.
