We have entered the home stretch of the 49th BDN Football Forecast and there is a familiar horse leading the pack of staff prognosticators. Coming off a 16-4 effort, Ernie Clark has stretched his advantage to four games over Larry Mahoney.
With only three weeks remaining, Joe McLaughlin has slipped to five games off the pace.
Last week’s guest, Maine Secretary of State Matt Dunlap, went 10-10.
This week’s guest is Chris Popper, the sports director and play-by-play announcer at WDEA-AM 1370 AM in Ellsworth sports.
Popper, a native of Block Island, Rhode Island, has been at WDEA for 13 years. He handles play-by-play chores in multiple sports for Mount Desert Island High School as well as Ellsworth High.
Popper graduated from Middlebury College in 1982 with a degree in economics and history. He and his wife Bonnie have two sons, Collin and Craig.
