Seminole’s accuser wants probe halted

The woman who allegedly accused Florida State running back Karlos Williams of assault asked the Tallahassee Police Department to drop its investigation.

Nathan Prince, the woman’s attorney, said his client never contacted police about an alleged domestic assault but that someone saw a social media post and called authorities. The woman is pregnant with the couple’s second child, but they are no longer together, according to reports. She posted photos and messages Friday night, saying her arm was injured as a result of domestic violence but never mentioned Williams’ name, only that it was the father of her children.

Meanwhile, the Florida State Attorney’s Office for the 2nd Judicial Circuit in Tallahassee tried to interview Williams last week about a June 23 robbery of an Florida State student. Williams’ attorney, Tim Jansen, told the Orlando Sentinel on Tuesday that his client was not charged and also that Williams had not turned down the police request for an interview in connection with the armed robbery in June.

Miami tackle injured

The Miami Hurricanes are facing the possibility of being without left tackle Ereck Flowers for at least one game and potentially for the remainder of the season after he suffered an injury during last Thursday’s game at Virginia Tech.

“It’s tough. Doc seem to think it was an old injury that just — I don’t know how to say it — flared up,” Miami coach Al Golden said.

The 6-foot-6, 322-pound Flowers is considered the Hurricanes’ best offensive lineman. He had started 21 of the last 25 games for Miami at left tackle.
