BANGOR Maine — A Connecticut man was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court to 10 years in federal prison on a drug charge, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.

Richard A. “Al” Kincaid III, 35, of Waterbury, Connecticut, also was sentenced to three years of supervised release and ordered to forfeit more than $3,000 in cash and his 2008 blue Chevrolet Impala.

Kincaid waived indictment and pleaded guilty in May to one count of distribution of cocaine.

According to court records, Kincaid drove the Impala from Connecticut on March 25 to a Bangor residence to deliver about seven ounces of cocaine to an individual there. The defendant also collected money from drug customers at the residence, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.

Kincaid was arrested April 2 when he returned to Bangor.

Kincaid faced up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up $1 million.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
