ALBANY, New York — The University at Albany scored twice during a six-minute span of the first half on night en route to a 2-0 women’s soccer victory over the University of Maine in an America East quarterfinal.

Caitlyn Paltsios scored the only goal the No. 4 Great Danes would need when her 15-yard shot went off the hands of Black Bears goalkeeper Claudia Dube-Trempe, deflected off the post and went into the goal. Celia Balf provided an assist.

Albany (7-8-5) added a goal from Vivian Vega. Alana Brennan made eight saves for the winners.

Dube-Trempe made three saves for UMaine, which ended the season at 4-8-6.
