SKOWHEGAN, Maine — An Anson man has been indicted on two counts of manslaughter in connection with a double-fatal accident in the town of Embden in February.

Mark Schobel, 24, was involved in a Feb. 27 head-on collision that claimed the lives of two people, according to Bangor Daily News archives.

Schobel was traveling east on Route 16 when he passed another vehicle and struck a westbound Subaru driven by Leon Souweine, 67, of Bangor.

Jennifer Nile, 22, a passenger in Schobel’s car, was killed in the accident, and Leon Souweine’s wife, Ruth, later died of her injuries.

If convicted, Schobel faces up to 25 years behind bars on each manslaughter charge.

Shain Sargent, 43, Skowhegan, aggravated criminal mischief, refusing to submit to arrest.

Dwain Libby, 56, Anson, possession of a schedule Z drug, marijuana cultivation.
