BIDDEFORD, Maine — Four people were arrested Tuesday in connection with a crack cocaine and heroin bust in Biddeford, according to officials.

Arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule drugs were Christopher Clayton, 24, and Jasmine Branao, 23, of Boston, while Athina Goldwait, 32, and Casey Goldwait, 24, both of Biddeford, are accused of unlawful trafficking in Schedule W drugs, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Cmdr. Scott Pelletier said.

Throughout the month of October, MDEA agents in York County conducted an investigation into heroin and crack distribution at a Summer Street apartment, according to Pelletier.

Drug agents received numerous complaints from neighbors about traffic coming in and out of the apartment, along with out-of-state vehicles picking people up and dropping people off at the location, Pelletier said.

Investigative efforts revealed the out-of-state traffickers were allowed to stay in a back bedroom while repackaging crack cocaine and heroin for resale throughout Biddeford, according to Pelletier. Agents were able to conduct undercover purchases, then applied for and were granted a search warrant.

The search warrant was conducted Tuesday afternoon, and all four suspects arrested without incident. Three ounces of crack cocaine, 8 grams of Heroin, a loaded firearm, scales and packaging materials, along with $800 in suspected drug proceeds and two Maine EBT cards believed to be used as collateral for drugs were seized. The street value of the drugs is $10,000.

All four suspects were taken to the York County Jail, where bail was set at $75,000 for Clayton, $50,000 for Branao and $30,000 for Athina Goldwait. Casey Goldwait is being held without bail because of a pending prior drug charge.
