YORK, Maine — A Westbrook man died Tuesday after he was struck by a dump truck in a construction site along the Maine Turnpike.

State police identified the dead man Wednesday as James Woodward, 50, Maine Department of Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

The man driving the truck was Garry Johnson, 53, of Hollis, McCausland said. Both men worked for Shaw Brothers.

The men were performing work on the southbound side of the highway on the York River Bridge, according to McCausland.

Traffic was not affected by the accident. The lane in which the accident took place was already closed because of the construction. No charges are expected.
