CHINA, Maine — Two women are being sought for questioning by state police in connection with the stabbing of a third woman in China on Tuesday night.

Police are looking to speak to Carrisa Butkewicz, 23, and Tiffany Glidden, 20, in connection with the stabbing of 24-year old Katherine Hopkins of Waterville, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

Hopkins was listed in stable condition Wednesday morning at MaineGeneral hospital in Augusta, according to McCausland.

State police say Hopkins was stabbed while sitting in a vehicle on the Neck Road at around 6:45 p.m.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Butkewicz or Glidden should call Maine State Police in Augusta at 624-7076.
