Game notes: The Black Bears look to respond after Saturday’s loss to Southern Maine with a better effort against coach Warren Caruso’s Eagles. Husson is the defending North Atlantic Conference champion but must replace five pivotal seniors off that ballclub. Moore and Anderson both missed most of last season with injuries. Portland’s Matt Talbot, Conor Adams of Bangor and Washburn’s Mitch Worcester, a UMaine transfer, are among the Eagles’ newcomers. UMaine senior sharpshooter Zarko Valjarevic is expected to be out with a foot injury that forced him to miss the USM game.
