The Husson University field hockey and men’s soccer teams are among seven teams from Maine colleges heading to NCAA tournaments.
Bowdoin College’s men’s and women’s soccer teams, field hockey team and its volleyball team also are heading to NCAA playoffs along with the University of New England’s field hockey team.
The Husson men’s soccer team (13-7) won the North Atlantic Conference title on Nov. 8 and will play a first-round contest against tourney host Brandeis on Saturday in Waltham, Massachusetts.
The winner of that game will take on the winner of Brockport (10-3-6) vs. Bowdoin (9-6-3). Bowdoin is making its first NCAA appearance since 2010.
Husson’s field hockey team (9-8), also an NAC champ, will take on Mount Holyoke College (16-3) in a first-round game on Wednesday in South Hadley, Massachusetts.
If Husson wins, it will head to Brunswick to take on Bowdoin (16-2), which earned a first-round bye in the NCAA tourney and will host a regional Nov. 15-16 at Ryan Field in Brunswick.
UNE will host Simmons College in a first-round game on Wednesday in Biddeford.
The Bowdoin College women’s soccer team has earned an at-large berth and will play in an NCAA regional Saturday at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Polar Bears (12-4) will take on Roger Williams.
Bowdoin’s volleyball team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tourney and will play in a regional at Williams College beginning on Friday in Williamstown, Massachusetts, where they will face Regis.
