SKOWHEGAN, Maine — Police are seeking information that could lead to identifying a man who allegedly attempted to rob a woman Tuesday night on Waterville Road.
The robbery happened about 10:30 p.m. at the Pace Union Hall, located at 653 Waterville Road, Skowhegan Police Chief Ted Blais said Wednesday in a news release.
The union hall was the site of a toy auction fundraiser that night, Blais said. A worker was sitting in her car outside the hall during a break when a man approached her with a knife and demanded money, he said.
Blais said that no theft occurred as the suspect was scared off before he was able to obtain any money.
The suspect is described as a white man with a black mustache, about 30-35 years old, Blais said. The man was wearing a camouflage hoodie at the time, the chief said.
Blais also said the victim described a suspicious car in the area about the time the incident occurred as a white sedan with blue-tinted headlights and round taillights.
