WATERBORO, Maine — Three men were hospitalized Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle accident on Townhouse Road, according to police.
Matthew Lambert, 23, of Lyman, was driving a 2011 GMC pickup westbound when it left the roadway and went into a ditch at 3:45 a.m., according to Chief Deputy William King of the York County Sheriff’s Office.
The impact caused the pickup to go airborne and hit a utility pole, snapping the pole in half, King said.
Lambert and his passengers, Tyler Tanch and David Strandburg, both 23, of Waterboro, suffered serious injuries and were transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, King said.
Lambert was ejected on impact and Strandburg had to be extricated, King said, while Tanch was able to get out of the vehicle on his own.
Townhouse Road remained shut down Wednesday morning as the crash was reconstructed. Speed and fog appear to be factors.
