BANGOR, Maine — Work on the Union Street Bridge spanning Interstate 95 will force several overnight lane closures next week, according to a Maine Department of Transportation statement.

The work involves closing lanes from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. so safe construction work can take place.

From Nov. 16 to 18, the southbound on-ramp from Ohio Street will be closed during work hours, according to the MDOT, while on Nov. 19, the entire southbound side of the interstate will be closed. Traffic will be detoured at Exit 184 and can re-access the interstate at Hammond Street.

On Nov. 20, a similar closure will occur in the northbound lanes, and traffic will be detoured at Exit 184, but allowed to reenter at the Union Street on-ramp.

Motorists should follow signs and expect delays during this work.
