KENDUSKEAG, Maine — Hundreds of Emera Maine customers in Kenduskeag were without power Tuesday afternoon after a Jeep struck a utility pole on Route 15.
Maine State Police Lt. Sean Hashey said the accident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. near the intersection with Ames Road.
Hashey said the driver, whose name was not available, was not seriously injured.
Wires over the roadway forced police to shut down the road to traffic for about an hour, according to Hashey.
Traffic is now down to one lane while Emera Maine crews continue to work to restore the pole, the lieutenant said.
Approximately 345 Emera Maine customers are without power due to the crash, according to the company’s website.
