Employee ownership
BANGOR — Ron Dennis, president and owner of Dennis Paper & Food Service in Bangor announced that he is selling the company to its employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan effective Jan. 1.
A family-owned and operated business since 1908, Dennis Paper & Food Service has grown into one of the largest independently-owned foodservice distributors in New England, Dennis said.
The governance of Dennis Paper & Food Service will not change, Dennis said, and the local company culture and organizational structure will remain. Most important, he said, all employees will keep their jobs and he will remain active in day-to-day operations.

BREWER — Gosselin’s bakery, based in Bangor, announced that it opened a second store, Gosselin’s 2, located on South Main Street in Brewer, on Dec. 1. The store celebrated its grand opening by helping the Marine Corps Reserves project, Toys for Tots.
Gosselin’s 2 will collect Toys for Tots for the three weeks leading up to Christmas, “in hopes to fill that box up every other day!” said Bruce Stewart, husband of owner Yvette Gosselin Stewart, in the store’s press release.
According to Nicole Gogan, deputy director of economic development for Brewer, “The Gosselin-Stewart family has done an incredible job taking what was a dated space and turning it into a little piece of heaven on South Main Street. We are thrilled they are going to be on both sides of the river — although it’s going to take a lot of willpower not to visit them every day.”
