WISCASSET, Maine — A Summer Street resident awoke early Sunday morning to find that a man had allegedly broken into his home and passed out on the bedroom floor.

Cory Ray, 37, of Dresden, told police he thought the house belonged to a friend, Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline said.

“The guy woke up to find the other guy passed out next to his bed,” Cline said.

The responding officer charged Ray with criminal mischief and criminal trespass. He was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail and released later Sunday on $2,000 unsecured bail.

A court date was not immediately available.
