GRAY, Maine — Forecasted sleet, snow and freezing rain Tuesday night into Wednesday has the potential to make driving conditions throughout the state slick, according to the National Weather Service.

Nearly the entire state will be under a winter weather advisory beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the weather service.

Up to six inches of fresh snow are possible in some communities, with Aroostook County expected to receive the most snow, according to the weather service.

Any snow is expected to turn to sleet and freezing rain early Wednesday, according to the weather service.

In addition to snow, a trace to a tenth of an inch of ice are possible as well, according to the weather service.

Motorists are urged to exhibit caution while driving.
