Bank vice president
BANGOR — Jon Prescott, president and CEO of Katahdin Trust Company, announced recently the appointment of Sherry Roberts of Hermon as vice president, business development officer. Roberts will be responsible for business development for small business, commercial and nonprofit entities in the Bangor area.
Certification earned
BANGOR — Mischelle Adams, wealth management account officer at Bangor Savings Bank, was awarded recently the Certified Trust and Financial Adviser designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers, a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association, in Washington, DC.
Adams is a graduate of Husson University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She also is a 2007 graduate from the Bangor Region Leadership Institute.
After working with Bar Harbor Bank and Trust for 20 years as a vice president and trust officer, Adams joined the staff of Bangor Savings Bank in 2013. She has since served in her current position at the Bangor Savings Bank corporate offices in Bangor.
New staff member
BANGOR — Eastern Maine Development Corporation announced recently that Kimberly Moore joined its staff as a business services specialist for the statewide Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program. Moore will implement the federally funded program for Maine companies from EMDC’s office in Bangor.
The DBE program encourages the development and use of companies owned and controlled by minorities, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals on federally-aided highway construction projects.

New staff members
HAMPDEN — Jen Davis of Winterport, owner of Davis Learning Center, located at Old Hampden Academy, 1 Main Road North, announced recently that she completed hiring staff for the new preschool and child care center. Katy York of Bangor will be work with Davis on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Ashley McLaughlin of Levant will work with Davis on Tuesday and Thursday.

Smile of a Child
HERMON — Economy Motors Inc. in Hermon and Twin City Tire in Brewer have partnered in a friendly competition to collect gifts for The Smile of A Child Program to see who can collect the most gifts. The loser has to buy the winner lunch.
To sweeten the deal, when participants bring in a new unwrapped toy to either business he or she will get a ticket to be entered to win a $250 gift card that can be used for heating oil, pellets, gasoline or wood.
