SOUTH THOMASTON, Maine — Police are looking for a couple who they say attacked a family and injured a father and son with a brick.
Both father and son were taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport to be treated for unspecified injuries. Information about their conditions was not immediately available Monday morning.
The younger man was the ex-boyfriend of the woman who showed up at his father’s house on Waterman’s Beach Road with her new boyfriend shortly after midnight Friday, according to Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison.
Dennison didn’t say why the ex-girlfriend and her new beau went to the house, but the sheriff indicated Monday that the new and old boyfriend got into an altercation.
The father tried to break up the fight and was struck by the woman’s new boyfriend with a brick. The male suspect also used the brick to assault the son. Another woman at the residence was assaulted by the female suspect, Dennison said.
The father was taken by a South Thomaston ambulance to Pen Bay Medical Center. The son was taken to the same hospital by his mother and the other woman allegedly assaulted at the home declined medical treatment.
Dennison said arrest warrants have been obtained against the two suspects, who had yet to be apprehended as of Monday morning. The names of the two suspects were not released.
