ELLSWORTH, Maine — A local man is being held in jail on a charge of elevated aggravated assault and domestic violence terrorizing after officers responded to an altercation at a Mariaville Road home Wednesday night, according to local police.

Correy Goode, 25, was arrested late Wednesday after three officers with the Ellsworth Police Department responded to a call about the altercation, police indicated Thursday in an incident report summary. Goode initially was taken into custody on multiple active warrants, police said.

Ellsworth police Detective Dotty Small said a woman suffered “pretty serious” injuries in the alleged assault but that they were not considered life-threatening. The woman was taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth for treatment and was released sometime Thursday, Small said.

Small declined to release details about the alleged assault, including what factors may have led to the elevated charge.

Goode remained held late Thursday afternoon at Hancock County Jail, she said. In addition to the elevated aggravated assault charge, Goode also has been charged with domestic violence terrorizing, according to police.
