AUGUSTA, Maine — An Augusta man is facing drug and weapons charges and police believe he may have assaulted the mother of his unborn child.
Investigators say 18-year-old Stephon Davis displayed a firearm in a “reckless manner” outside his home on Littlefield Street on Sunday night.
When police came to question him, they say he refused to open the door. Officers then stopped Davis in his car and took him into custody.
Police searched Davis’ home and say they found the weapon – which police say was stolen – along with cocaine. Investigators say they also found evidence to suggest that Davis assaulted a woman who is pregnant with his child.
Davis was charged with elevated aggravated assault on a pregnant person as well as criminal threatening with a weapon, theft by receiving stolen property and trafficking in schedule W drugs.
Davis is being held at the Kennebec County Jail without bail.
