WILTON, Maine — A man from Jay was killed early Thursday morning in a single-vehicle accident on Route 156, according to police.
Dennis Hanson, 37, was traveling west when he lost control of his Chevy Blazer, according to Wilton police Chief Heidi Wilcox.
Hanson was traveling home from work at the time of the accident, which occurred shortly after midnight, Wilcox said.
Hanson’s vehicle rolled over after leaving the roadway and came to rest on its roof against a utility pole, which was broken, the police chief said.
Black ice was a factor in the accident, and Hanson was wearing his seatbelt. He was the vehicle’s lone occupant.
The crash remains under investigation.
