WINSLOW, Maine — Maine State Police arrested a local Web designer Friday and found hundreds of sexually explicit images and movies of children on his computer.
Darrin Cates, 45, has been charged with possession of sexually explicit materials of children under the age of 12, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Saturday.
Police, acting on a search warrant, arrested Cates at his home at 6 Roy St. McCausland said Cates is a self-employed Web designer.
He was taken to Kennebec County Jail, where his bail was set at $500. He bailed himself out later that day, according to a jail official.
Cates is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 17, according to McCausland.
