Furry Friends Food Bank fundraiser
BANGOR — Green Acres Kennel Shop reports that it launched its sixth annual fundraiser for the Eastern Area Agency on Aging Furry Friends Food Bank on Nov. 22. The fundraising goal was $2,500; $1,500 from clients and the community, and $1,000 from Green Acres Kennel Shop. After 22 days, $2,664 had been raised from the community, thus surpassing the goal. Thus, the community goal was raised to $4,000, with an additional $1,000 from Green Acres if the second goal was met.
The fundraiser concluded on Dec. 27 with $4,347 from the community and $2,000 from Green Acres for a total of $6,347.
A total of 290 donations, mostly local, were made, but some were from as far away as Connecticut and Wisconsin, according to a press release. Donations ranged from $1 to $395. All funds raised will be used to purchase pet food at wholesale prices for distribution by the Eastern Area Agency on Aging Furry Friends Food Bank.
