BROWNVILLE, Maine — A Brownville man was arrested Sunday night on a charge of unlawful sexual contact, according to police.

Wyatt Morton, 30, was arrested without incident at the Brownville police station, according to Sgt. Christopher Gibson.

According to a statement issued by Gibson, Morton is a felon who has an extensive criminal history.

Brownville police Officer Michael Parady added that a complaint was filed by the female victim earlier Sunday, and Morton and the victim are familiar with one another.

Morton’s bail at the Piscataquis County Jail was set at $500,000.

If convicted of the Class B felony charge, Morton could spend up to 10 years in prison.
