PENOBSCOT, Maine — A Deer Isle woman was injured Monday morning after losing control of her vehicle on Southern Day Road, Maine State Police said.
Doreen Gray, 57, suffered serious injuries not considered to be life threatening, according to Trooper Bryan Cramer.
Gray was the only person in the vehicle, the trooper said, and the crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m.
Cramer said the road was a little bit wet, but road conditions were not a factor in the accident. He added that Gray likely overcorrected before going off the road and sideswiping a couple of trees.
Gray was not wearing a seat belt, according to Cramer.
Gray was originally taken to Blue Hill Memorial Hospital before being transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center.
