Icy road conditions kept York County sheriff’s deputies busy on Monday, as three crashes were reported within a few hours, according to Chief Deputy William King.

None of the crashes involved serious injury, King said.

The first accident was reported at 5:40 a.m. when Michael Linteau, 27, of Waterboro lost control of his pickup truck on Route 25 in Limington, forcing the road to be shut down for an hour.

King said the vehicle went into a fishtail, slid across the road and hit a soft shoulder before rolling onto its side. Linteau, who was alone in the truck, was not hurt.

About an hour after the first crash, Cristen Carpentier, 36, of Shapleigh, lost control of her Subaru on the Back Road in Acton, King said.

Carpentier’s vehicle struck a mailbox and rolled over onto its top. The vehicle was totaled but Carpentier, who was traveling alone, was not hurt.

About three hours after the second crash, at 10:30 a.m., Lydia Hubbard, 18, of Parsonsfield, lost control on Bridge Street in Newfield and struck a guardrail, causing her pickup to roll over and come to rest on a large tree, King said.

Hubbard, who was also traveling solo, was not hurt but her vehicle was totaled.
