ETNA, Maine — A Brewer woman was taken to a Bangor hospital Wednesday afternoon after she was injured in a rollover crash on Interstate 95.

Tobrina Snow, 36, suffered a possible head injury, Trooper Paul White of the Maine State Police said Wednesday night. Snow’s infant, who was a passenger, was not hurt, he said.

According to White, the accident happened about 3:40 p.m. when Snow came up behind a log truck while driving her Dodge sedan and for a yet-to-be-determined reason tried to swerve left to go around it but instead struck the truck’s left rear wheel, causing her car to roll several times before landing on its roof in the passing lane.

Snow’s car was demolished, the trooper said.

The truck driver, 51-year-old Melvin Laweryson of Guilford, was not injured, White said, adding that the only damage to the truck was some paint transfer.

Laweryson reportedly did not realize his truck had been struck until he heard a loud bang and looked in his rear-view mirror and saw Snow’s car skittering down the highway.

White said driver inattention appears to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
