LINCOLN, Maine — Two months of surveillance and traffic stops led police to arrest a local woman on charges of possession of methamphetamine and Percocet, police said Tuesday.
Megyn Voisine, 26, of Lincoln was charged Monday with two counts of unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs, police said. Possession of Percocet is a Class C felony; possession of methamphetamine is a misdemeanor.
Police had finished collecting evidence at Voisine’s West Broadway apartment south of River Road and were interviewing her at the public safety building on Monday afternoon when she allegedly confessed that she owned a single Percocet pill and a small package of methamphetamine that police found during their search, said Dan Summers, Lincoln public safety director.
Police were drawn to Voisine after residents complained of drug dealing at the apartment. Lincoln police Sgt. Glenn Graef and newly full-time police Officer Josh McKechnie had been watching people visit the apartment for short stays and pulling them over on traffic violations since November. Statements from the motorists helped police secure the search warrant, Summers said.
The single pill has a street value of about $45. Police also found $1,222 cash and what they described as drug paraphernalia — pipes, plastic baggies and cellphones — during the search, Summers said.
The investigation is ongoing. Voisine is due in the Penobscot Judicial Center in Bangor on April 16.
