WATERVILLE, Maine — A man was robbed on Gray Street over the weekend, and police are looking for the suspect.
Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said police received the call around 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The call initially came in as a stabbing but officers later learned that nobody had been stabbed but that a robbery had occurred.
The victim had gotten out of the passenger seat of a vehicle and was approached by the suspect, who stuck a long screwdriver into his abdomen and demanded money, Rumsey said.
The assailant made off with the man’s wallet, Rumsey said. A canine track was performed but the suspect could not be located.
The man was wearing bluejeans, a gray sweatshirt, a tan coat and had his face covered with a gray shirt, Rumsey said.
Anyone with information on the robbery should call Detective Josh Woods at 680-4700.
