EDDINGTON – Coy Carl Gainer “Corky”, 82 of Eddington, passed away on January
23 surrounded by his family. He was born January 2, 1933 in Richwood, WV
and raised his family in High Point, NC. He moved to Eddington, Me in 1976. He worked at Eastern Fine Paper for 18 yrs and Phillip Strickland for 14 yrs.
Son of late Coy Carl Gainer Sr. and Beatrice (Seward) Gainer, Coy
served in the US Air Force until 1975. Survivors include his wife Joan
(Dean) Gainer of 60 years; a daughter Beatrice Snow and husband Richard
Snow; a son Fred (Rusty) Gainer and his life long partner Nancy Langley; 1st grandson Heath Gainer, Ryan McCourt, Barry McCourt; a granddaughter
Cassandra Gainer and Chris, Hallie, and Rylee Snow. He has 7 great grand
children, a sister Norma Jean Glidewell and husband Randy of NC, several
nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his brother James (Jim) Gainer,
Sisters Ernestine Cagle, Barbara Perkins and Frances Jean Proctor.
A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 10th at 2:00 at the
East Eddington Community Church. A grave side service will be held in the
spring.
