PORTLAND, Maine — A Westbrook woman was arrested Thursday night on Stoneledge Drive on six outstanding warrants and charged with selling heroin and cocaine base.
Rachel Rembert, 28, was visiting a friend when agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, along with Portland police, took her into custody, according to a release from MDEA Cmdr. Scott J. Pelletier.
Rembert allegedly attempted to flee the home of a friend before agents captured her.
While searching her, police allegedly found a plastic bag containing 60 grams of crack cocaine and 14 grams of heroin, with a total estimated street value of $25,000.
Later on Thursday, agents searched the Stoneledge Drive home and allegedly seized items related to drug trafficking, including digital scales and packaging materials.
Rembert was charged with two counts of Class A felony trafficking in Schedule W drugs (cocaine base and heroin), violation of conditions of release, and on six outstanding arrest warrants.
She was held without bail at the Cumberland County Jail until her arraignment on Friday, and returned to jail, according to a jail official. Her bail was not immediately available.
Pelletier said the investigation continues and additional charges are likely.
