MONTICELLO, Maine — A Houlton woman escaped injury Monday despite losing control of her vehicle on slippery Route 1, striking a snowbank and rolling the car over onto its roof, according to police.
Christiana Marcus, 19, was heading south and passing a tractor-trailer in her 2003 Toyota when the accident happened at about 11:38 a.m., Sgt Josh Haines of the Maine State Police said in a press release issued Monday afternoon.
Marcus, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured in the crash, Haines said.
State police were assisted by members of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and Monticello Fire Department.
