ROCKLAND, Maine — The Republican caucus to select a nominee for a vacant House seat has been postponed to Tuesday evening because of Monday’s storm.

The caucus is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Trade Winds Motor Inn.

Republican James Kalloch announced he intends to seek the nomination. Kalloch was the party’s standard bearer in November when he lost narrowly (1,744 to 1,612) to Democratic Rep. Elizabeth Dickerson of Rockland, who resigned last month citing personal and professional reasons. She now lives in Colorado.

Kalloch is owner and operator of Penobscot Bay Ferry and Transport.

The Democrats will gather at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Rockland City Hall.

The special election is Tuesday, March 10.
