MILLINOCKET, Maine — Town and state police are investigating a serious motor vehicle crash in the area of Route 157 near Rice Farm and Huber roads, officials said Tuesday.
Details about the accident are scarce, but Millinocket police called for an accident reconstructionist to come to the crash site, a state police dispatcher said. The accident caused traffic between East Millinocket and Millinocket to back up for a significant amount of time.
Millinocket Public Safety Director Steve Kenyon and Assistant Fire Chief Thomas Malcolm did not immediately return telephone messages seeking comment.
The accident occurred about 4:15 p.m. A motorist who was in the area at the time said police immediately shut down Route 157.
