YARMOUTH, Maine — A local man was arrested Thursday and is facing a child pornography charge, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.
Stefan Shaft, 23, was taken into custody without incident at his home, McCausland said Friday.
Shaft’s computer was seized and review of it revealed dozens of child pornography images, according to McCausland. None of the children depicted are believed to be from Maine.
Shaft was charged with possession of sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 12 and was brought to Cumberland County Jail.
Shaft is unemployed and lives at home with his mother and grandmother.
