BANGOR, Maine — Officials continue to investigate a fire that swept through the Family Dollar store on State Street Monday morning.
Sgt. Tim York of the State Fire Marshal’s office said a cause has not been determined for the blaze that heavily damaged the discount retail store.
“We’re done with the scene now, we’re just doing some follow-up,” York said.
The sergeant did not disclose whether or not the fire is being deemed suspicious, citing that is part of the ongoing investigation.
York added he has no timetable for the conclusion of the investigation.
No store employees or firefighters were injured in the blaze, and employees and customers inside the store quickly evacuated after the blaze broke out.
Family Dollar’s State Street location opened in August 2004, according to BDN archives.
