SURRY, Maine — Firefighters from Surry and several surrounding communities were called to Cross Road on Tuesday night to extinguish a house fire, a Hancock County Regional Communications Center dispatcher confirmed.
Although few details were available as of 9 p.m., an emergency dispatcher said that the fire was reported shortly before 8 p.m. and that Surry firefighters were being assisted by crews from Blue Hill, Ellsworth and Sedgwick.
Meanwhile, Orland and Dedham firefighters were on standby.
