Game notes: The Black Bears quest for the conference regular-season title continues with a road contest at Binghamton. UMaine, which has rattled off 12 straight wins, is coming off a tight 57-54 victory at Vermont on Wednesday. This game gives the team a chance to play at the site of next month’s America East tournament. UMaine looks for a more cohesive offensive performance against the Bearcats, who have dropped 10 in a row, including a 76-58 decision against New Hampshire on Feb. 14. UMaine continues to win with stingy defense, giving up only 49.6 ppg in league play. The Bears have held 15 consecutive opponents under 60 points.

Game notes: This game represents a battle to stay out of the AE cellar. UMaine is lost two in a row coming off Wednesday’s 81-72 setback at UMass Lowell. The Black Bears hope to regain the services of Lawton (illness) and Christian Ejiga (injury). The Retrievers have dropped their last seven after beating UMaine in Bangor, most recently Tuesday’s 55-52 loss at Hartford. UMBC rode the inside play of Joyce (28 points, 8 rebounds) and shot 80 percent in the second half of that contest. The teams are the league’s least potent on offense and most forgiving on defense.
