WINDHAM, Maine — An early morning fire destroyed a home in Windham. The fire started on Pope Road between 2 and 2:30 a.m.
Windham Fire Chief Brent Libby said the homeowner woke up to flames near the chimney. The man tried to put the fire out himself with an extinguisher, but was unable to control it and called 911. He was not hurt.
Parts of Pope Road are closed this morning. CBS 13 has a crew on the scene.
