WARREN, Maine — The Knox County sheriff says her officers have a suspect in the theft of tools from a garage in which the intruder cut a hole in back of the structure to gain access.

The stolen tools have a value of about $2,500.

The theft was reported Monday and the crime occurred during the past few days, Sheriff Donna Dennison said Tuesday. The garage is located at a rental property and the owner had not checked the facility in the past few days.

The stolen tools included a DeWalt rechargeable skill saw, sander and impact drill; a Bosch impact drill; a Stanley framing gun, siding gun and finishing gun; a Stihl chainsaw; a Tipmen paintball gun, and two extension cords.

Deputy John Hansen and Detective Don Murray are investigating.
