CARIBOU, Maine — A portion of the East Presque Isle Road was shut down for three hours Thursday after a municipal plow truck that was treating the city’s streets careened off the road and into a ditch.
Caribou police said Rob Deschesne was plowing the road with a Caribou Public Works Department truck at about 8:30 a.m. when an edge of the plow caught the shoulder of the road. The plow went off the road and rolled onto its side.
Deschesne was not injured, and there was no damage to the plow, police said.
Crews needed to tow the truck out of the ditch and clean equipment off the roadway.
The road reopened just before noon.
