WESTBROOK, Maine — An 84-year-old Gorham man crashed his car into Rite Aid Pharmacy on Main Street on Sunday, injuring an employee and causing structural damage to the building.

Just after noon Sunday, a 2006 Lexus driven by Philo Street crashed into the building, according to a release from Westbrook Police Capt. Michael Nugent.

Neither Street nor his wife, Diana Street, who was a passenger in the car, were hurt, but an employee was taken by Westbrook Rescue to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

The Westbrook Code Enforcement Officer went to the scene to assess the structural integrity of the building, according to Nugent. The crash remains under investigation.

No additional information was immediately available.
