BLUE HILL, Maine — A local man was hospitalized Saturday evening after suffering serious but not life-threatening injuries in a snowmobile accident on Route 15, according to Maine State Police.

Lt. Roderick Charette wrote in a statement Monday that Randall Seidle, 59, was injured when his snowmobile rolled over on top of him at approximately 7 p.m. The accident happened after a companion of Seidle’s, who was on another snowmobile, turned left off the road. Seidle was behind the other snowmobiler and tried to make the same turn but did not succeed, Charette indicated.

Troopers Jake Ferland and Bryan Creamer investigated the accident, Charette said. Speed and alcohol are considered to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation, he added.

Charette said Seidle was taken to Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. Further information about Seidle’s injuries or condition were unavailable Monday afternoon.
