BANGOR, Maine — An Aroostook County man arrested last fall on child pornography charges was scheduled to be arraigned in federal court on Tuesday.

Robert Kinney, 40, is accused of transportation of child pornography, receiving child pornography and possession of sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 12.

All three charges are Class B felonies punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Kinney, also known as Snake, knowingly transported and received the child pornography on the Internet in late August and possessed the pornography between August and September, according to a court indictment.

A search of electronic devices at Kinney’s home revealed graphic images of infants being sexually molested, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said at the time of Kinney’s arrest.

BDN sports freelancer Ryan McLaughlin grew up in Brewer and is a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins.
