ETNA, Maine — Motorists are being asked to avoid Route 2 in Etna, which is reduced to one lane because of a structure fire, the Maine Department of Transportation said in an alert issued shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The fire was reported about 3:25 p.m. on West Etna Road, a dispatcher with the Penobscot Regional Communications Center said.
Crews from Etna and several surrounding communities are at the fire scene. The public should consider alternate routes or expect delays.
