SINCLAIR, Maine — Icy road conditions are blamed for an early morning single-vehicle accident that sent one woman to the hospital.

Donna Dubois, 56, of St. Francis and her mother, Betty Brann, no age given, were traveling south on Route 161 in Sinclair just after 7:30 a.m. Thursday, when Dubois lost control of her 2009 Chevrolet Impala in a curve, according to Sgt. Josh Haines of the Maine State Police. The car went off the road and rolled over, Haines said Thursday morning.

Dubois, who complained of a neck injury, was brought by ambulance to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent, where she was being treated in the emergency room, according to hospital spokeswoman Joanne Fortin.

That section of road was covered with ice at the time of the accident, Haines said.

Trooper Dan Marquis was assisted at the scene by members of Fort Kent Ambulance and North Lakes Fire and Rescue.
